In 1980, Patrick Sounigo, then in his third year of medical school, met Philippe Simonin, a genius inventor of electroridopuncture, who revolutionized instrumental cosmetology through the use of pulsed electric currents. Patrick Sounigo learned everything from this master, who trained him, in addition to the application of his inventions, in dermatological skin care techniques and product formulation. This part of his education particularly interested and captivated him. He worked with Philippe Simonin until 1983, when the latter left for Switzerland. Then in his sixth year of medical school, Patrick Sounigo made a radical decision: to leave university to devote himself to a project that would be his life's work, creating cosmetic products.
In 1984, he met Marie-Thérèse Tiphaigne, a spiritual protégé of Dr. Jean Valnet, a world authority in medical aromatherapy. He decided that his cosmetics would involve the use of essential oils, which, for him, represented the only guarantee of the usefulness and effectiveness of a skincare product.
His cosmetics must deliver visible results and cannot be content with being a mere promise. For Patrick Sounigo, the magic of care is born from science, and his goal is to transform his clients' skin by combining care and makeup. To do this, he uses ingredients whose molecular weights will determine, for each product, a dual action: immediate and lasting.
Patrick Sounigo and his brother Marc created the Samuel Par brand, in homage to their grandfather Samuel Sounigo, and opened their treatment center in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood.
His approach, experience, and the originality of his offerings and products breathed new life into the very conventional world of cosmetology, which was then dominated by powerful groups. Very quickly, prestigious retailers such as Barneys New York, Harvey Nichols London, Joyce Hong Kong, Space NK, and Galeries Lafayette Paris adopted his range.
Celebrities such as Catherine Deneuve, Chiara Mastroianni, Gabrielle Lazure, Rosanna Arquette, and many others were quickly drawn to this talked-about spot, where the scent of essential oils filled Rue Madame. This place soon became the favorite address for beauty addicts on Paris's Left Bank.

For 40 years, I have been dedicated to researching and developing disruptive cosmetics. The common thread of my work is to highlight and reveal women's natural beauty: that intelligent beauty lying dormant.
The idea behind each Sampar product is to offer the skin adaptive formulas whose ingredients act selectively according to their weight. Large molecules remain on the skin's surface to provide immediate action (protection, hydration, soothing, cleansing), while small molecules penetrate the inner layers to offer long-term results (anti-aging, anti-seborrhea, brightening, stimulation of melanogenesis).
It is thanks to this intelligent interaction between products and the skin that beauty emerges. SAMPAR is the result of all my convictions and knowledge accumulated over the years. It is also the certainty that the skin is an intelligent organ that sometimes needs our help.

Patrick Sounigo
SAMPAR is the inspiration behind many skincare trends: overnight masks, cosmakeup (hybrid skincare at the intersection of skincare and makeup), peel-off masks, and anti-pollution treatments.
In 2004, Patrick Sounigo launched his new Sampar Urban Advance line, and Sephora was immediately impressed by the concept, introducing it in 1000 points of sale in France and abroad.
From 2010 to 2014, SAMPAR was the 2nd best-selling exclusive brand and ranked among the top 13 best-selling brands across all skincare lines.
Today, SAMPAR is distributed in department stores, perfumeries, pharmacies, on airlines, and online, worldwide in over 24 countries across 5 continents.
Our formulas are developed with a dual effectiveness objective, both short-term and long-term.
Our products are packaged in containers that have been tested and approved for their practical and hygienic aspects, without ever altering the product.
From the formulation to the manufacturing and packaging of the products, everything is done in France, with the exception of our K-beauty products, of course, which come directly from Korea (that's the point !).
